CONTROLS
Gamepad:
- Left Stick to Move
- Right Stick to Rotate
- LB/RB to throw/pickup on Left/Right hand
- LT/RT to shoot on Left/Right hand

Keyboard&Mouse:

- Mouse to Rotate
- Q left hand throw/pickup

FEATURES
- Arcade-like score system with chain kill combo multiplier. Get the highest score in 3 distinct play modes!
- Default Mode: 20 waves with increasing difficulty, progressively unleashing the 4 different weapons available in the game and culminating in an Agent boss fight at Wave 10 and 20. Then switches to Hardcore mode for endless wave spawn.
- Hardcore Mode: start straight away with pure random spawning between the 5 different types of enemies (including the Agent bosses) with each wave spawning anywhere from 1-8 enemies.
- Reloaded Mode: face endless waves of Agent Smith, numbers increasing every other wave up to 10 agents in play.
- Become The One: optional training toggle where you can survive up to 5 hits instead of 1, but disables “specific” score display.

Short Description
MiaMatrix is a 2D top down twin stick shooter fan game. To celebrate the release of The Matrix Resurrections, I made a short fan game recreating the Lobby Scene from The Matrix, but in the style of Hotline Miami.

MiaMatrix is the first showcase for the Twin Stick character controller asset I am working on for my commercial release Tsujigiri: a brutal 2D Top Down Melee Combat Game set in feudal japan. Find out more about my main game project here!
With Matrix 4 coming out, it seemed only fitting to put the character controller through a trial by fire by making this fan game! Especially after Zed from Let's Talk Game Design basically dared me to do it... Watch the devlog above for more details!

Nice! I really enjoy the movement mechanics but I do have a question on what the RELOADED mode does? I know that BECOME THE ONE turns the enemies into Agent Smith Mini-Bosses, but does RELOADED simply let enemies reload (but you still cannot reload)?

The Reloaded mode turns all enemies into Agent Smith.
Become the One is actually an “easy” modifier that gives about 3-5 lives to the player / Neo.
