Making a FANTASY TWITTER game in 2 days! - Ludum dare 47

Hi all, it's been a while!

A couple of months back, I've posted a video on my Youtube channel covering the process of making Newster. If you're curious how this game all came together during a 48h game jam where you have to make everything from scratch, please make sure to check it out and let me know what you think!

WHAT NEXT?

I'll have to admit I don't think I'll come back to this proof of concept for a long while. It was a cool idea, but I've got quite a few pans on the fire at the moment that need my attention and that I find more motivating. So here's a quick recap of what I'm currently working on:

- Tsujigiri (working title): I've decided to work on what hopefully will be my first commercial indie game release! It's a One Hit Kill 2D Top down combat game similar to Hotline Miami and Ape Out, but with samurais.  Pretty excited about the style and mood I have in mind, let's see if I manage to make it come to life! You can check out the 1st Devlog  here to learn more about it. Subscribe to my Youtube channel for monthly updates!

- Disc Battle (working title): I've started my first non-solo dev collaboration with a programmer on a super-smash bros style fighter game with flying, ricocheting discs! I'm taking the art and sound lead on this one. Even though I enjoy coding more, I'm taking the opportunity to really dive into the graphics side of things, from drawing to shaders programming, and it'll definitely make me a better dev in the process! It's really refreshing focusing on one particular side of the dev process rather than having the burden of tackling it all on your own.

- Yin & Yang: I've had a bit of a drawback on this one when I changed my workstation. Everything's now sorted and working. I have got controller support working, I need to fiddle a bit to make the tutorial adapt when you plug in the controller or not. Also I'd like to replace the music with an original track which I'm having a friend work on at the moment. After that, I'll think the project will be put on standby until Tsujigiri is released!

Thanks for reading, and make sure to follow me on Twitter @GeoffreyMugford for more regular updates!
