Pilkki
Pilkki is a cosy meditative Claymation ice fishing road trip, steeped in Finnish culture.
It is also a mid-development cancelled game.

Context:
In November 2022, we won the third prize for the QuickPlay Game Jam 2022 with Retro Pilkki. Unfortunately, after 2 years on and off of development, we decided to halt further development on this game in December 2024. The version released here is the last stable dev version released in September 2023 on Google Play on the Open Test track - we hope you'll enjoy diving into its rough edges and imagine what could have been!
Featuring:
- Unique physics-based fishing controls! Swing the rope like a pendulum to catch as many fish as you can.
- Fight the freezing weather! As you travel further up North, your hole in the ice will close up faster and need some regular digging.
- Outsmart the fish! With a wide variety of custom behaviours, you'll have to figure out what makes each fish tick and how best to trick them into your hook.
- Each level presents a new challenge to overcome, a new secret to uncover! There's always something new to do and discover on your way to Lapland.
- Connect with the memory of your grandfather and learn more about his life and hobby.
Notes on v2.3.3 Release:
- Featuring 4 levels out of the 24 planned for final release.
- Dev Debug Menu enabled (click on the top left corner)
Known common issues - if those happen to you, please restart the game:
- Hook getting stuck in environment.
- Rope breaking into smaller segments.
- Frame drops and game-breaking lag spikes on older devices.
